The University of Pécs is considered amongst the largest institution on higher education throughout the region and is currently characterized as a genuine knowledge factory. Its predominant objective is the discovery of creative and intelligent solutions in response to contemporary challenges and remains devoted to spearheading the initiative in progressive, knowledge-building processes.
Within the establishment of the János Szentágothai Research Center exists a strategy filling a gap spanning the past ten years in which science and research was formerly limited across the South Transanubia Region. Today, the institute concentrates the previously fragmented research centered around the health and environmental industries, as defined in the Polus program, supporting an immense background of knowledge integrating among modern laboratories within the region. Additionally, the institute supports the sustainability of human life through research and developmental activities such as a the establishment of region-based, unique and intensive measures.
Distinctively, the newly built Science Complex features innovative technology and modern laboratories equipped with cutting edge instruments but also serves towards integrating the University’s R+D+I strategy ensuring the potential for break-through over the next decade. The University of Pécs strives to develop collaborative activities including medical biology, natural sciences and information technology support to custom fit research profiles with economic and social demands encouraging cooperation and a spectrum of beneficial services.
The birth and activation of the University’s new Research Center is eager to gain its momentum in the quest of scientific exploration and with respect to it’s founder and disciple, Janos Szentagothai, strives to provide contemporary measures and opportunities to excel among constructive, intuitive and creative research scientists.
The University of Pécs is grateful to its partners and colleagues for their undying and spirited cooperation during the preparation and implementation of this achievement.
